Alpha & Omega Ministries
A Christian apologetics ministry based in Phoenix, Arizona. Directed by James White.
It’s “vintage” website declared:
Alpha and Omega Ministries is dedicated to providing the most up-to-date, faithful defense of the historic Protestant position on the sufficiency of Scripture and salvation. We are a Reformed ministry, fully believing in what are commonly called the “doctrines of grace.” We firmly believe in the Trinity, the deity of Christ, the person of the Holy Spirit, and salvation by grace through faith alone. We hold to the “solas” of the Reformation: sola scriptura, sola gratia, sola fide, soli Deo gloria.

Animal sounds/behavior in religious movements
Manifestations practiced, promoted and popularized by certain renewal and revival movements, primarily the Toronto Blessing Movement. Allegedly under the influence of the Holy Spirit, some people manifest by producing animal sounds (clucking like a chicken, barking like a dog, roaring like a lion, etc.). Some people also act like the animals represented.
We use “Catchall’ pages for brief entries that have not been assigned their own page (for one reason or another — but usually because they are too brief).
It is claimed that these are manifestations of the Holy Spirit, and that the sounds and behaviors have prophetic significance, are useful in spiritual warfare, and/or signify proclamation (i.e. roaring is often as representative of the roaring of the “Lion of Judah” – one of the Biblical titles of Jesus. Some people see the roaring as a way of proclaiming that Jesus is King.)
Apologetics Press says it provides “scripturally sound and scientifically accurate materials in the field of Christian apologetics.” However, the organization is operated by conservative legalistic Church of Christ members, which is reflected in a number of aberrant and/or heretical teachings.
This includes the Church of Christ doctrine that baptism is necessary for salvation.
We cannot recommend this organization or its materials.
