About this page

An extra-biblical teaching popularized by the Latter Rain movement. Based on a serious misinterpretation of Revelation 12 javascript popup window, pieced together with other passages, such as Joel 2 javascript popup window, this teaching claims that the so-called ''manchild'' (male child) will be born out of the end time church of overcomers.

Some interpret the manchild to represent a worldwide revival (never promised anywhere in Scripture), but the majority of Latter Rain proponents claim that the manchild is the Corporate Church.

Like most Latter Rain teachings, these concepts are promoted by today's controversial ''prophets'' and ''apostles.''

Apologetics Index (apologeticsindex.org, countercult.com, cultfaq.org) provides 39,900+ pages of research resources on religious cults, sects, new religious movements, alternative religions, apologetics-, anticult-, and countercult organizations, doctrines, religious practices and world views. These resources reflect a variety of theological and/or sociological perspectives.

Apologetics Index also includes ex-cult support resources - including a directory of cult experts (CultExperts.org), up-to-date religion and cult news (Religon News Blog: ReligionNewsBlog.com), articles on Christian life and ministry, and a variety of other features.
