IBD is a Christian apologetics ministry dedicated to helping train Christians to boldly defend the faith. To this end, the Institute offers many opportunities in Christian education for ministers and lay people alike to gain a deeper knowledge and greater foundation in the tenants of the Christian faith and in how to defend the faith from conflicting world views. The Institute provides training in theology, philosophy, Christian apologetics, world religions, counter cult studies and much more. For the serious student or minister, intensive, formal courses of instruction are available in five separate certificate programs. For churches or large groups, seminars on a variety of topics from Mormonism and Jehovah's Witnesses to Basic Christian Beliefs to Christian Philosophy of Government can be requested. For the individual or small group, IBD offers numerous audio and video cassette resources on a wide range of topics.

In addition to our educational outreach, the Institute staff itself is hard at work defending the faith and spreading the Gospel. The Institute lectures on areas of Christian interest on college campuses and has engaged non-Christian thinkers in debates. Just recently, the Institute launched a publishing arm, IBD Press, to publish scholarly works on Christian thought.
