Reincarnation and Christianity

All orthodox Christian denominations reject the concept of reincarnation.

After all, the idea of reincarnation defies Christianity’s basic teachings.

The Bible, which does not even mention reincarnation, says we die once and then face judgment (Hebrews 9:27).

If men live through many lifetimes, then there is no biblical judgment at death, but Hebrews 9:27 teaches there is.

If men must work out their own salvation over many lifetimes, then Jesus Christ did not have to die on the cross for our sins, but 1 John 2:2 and Luke 24:25-26 teach that he did.

If all men will eventually be saved and absorbed into the impersonal Brahman, then there is no eternal heaven or hell, but Matthew 25:46 and Revelation 20:10-15 teach that they are real.
