About AI Renewal

AI-Renewal is the discussion list of Apologetics Index.

It is a friendly list, meant for the discussion of a variety of contemporary Christian issues. Our primary focus is on Biblical apologetics - the logical presentation and defense of the Christian faith - and how they apply to movements, doctrines, daily Christian life and current affairs. However, other topics may be discussed as well.

The goal of AI-Renewal is to exhort and build up by promoting balance in teaching and practices, in an atmosphere of Christian fellowship. In doing so, we're guided by the following Scriptures:

(Acts 17:11 NIV) Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.

(1 Thessalonians 5:19-22 NNAS) Do not quench the Spirit; {20} do not despise prophetic utterances. {21} But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good; {22} abstain from every form of evil.

(1 Peter 3:15 NNAS) but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence;

(Ephesians 4:2-3 NIV) Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. {3} Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.

AI Renewal is open to all Christians. Subscribers to this list are expected to treat each other with gentleness and respect (see Philippians 2:1-5ff and Romans 12).

Messages sent to the list are not screened, and are posted immediately. (Note: Initially, messages from new subscribers are moderated.

Standard Netiquette conventions apply. They include: Do not overquote (i.e. do not quote an entire message only to reply with a few lines); do not send attachments; do not send HTML (rich text) messages.

Moderating issues are handled by David McKie and Anton Hein.

AI-Renewal is not a place to share prophecies, dreams or prophetic visions, words of impending judgment, etecetera. Such messages are best shared in an environment where they can be properly tested (by people who also know the "walk and talk" of the person giving them). AI-Renewal is not meant for the promotion of any heretical, aberrant or otherwise controversial movement or teaching - including today's controversial renewal and revival movements or cults of Christianity

Please do not forward or post jokes, "Thoughts (Scriptures, Devotionals, Words, etc.) of the Day," inspirationals, virus warnings, etcetera. (This is because many of us subscribe to multiple lists and see the same posts over and over again...)
