About this page

Pastor of Evangelical Grace Church and founder of Baptist Theological Institute, Nîmes, France. Both groups are listed in a French government report on cults and sects to be kept under surveillance, as well as in a follow-up report on "Sects and Money." DeMeo therefore is actively promoting the erroneous suggestion that France is guilty of "religious intolerance.". Predictably, his vocal denouncements and general ''cry wolf'' attitude have made him the darling of cult apologist organizations like CESNUR, Scientology's so-called 'Cult Awareness Network,' and the slightly more moderate Human Rights Without Frontiers.

In June, 1999, DeMeo spoke at an OSCE hearing on "Religious Freedom in Western Europe: Religious Minorities And Growing Government Intolerance."

Note that DeMeo's church is affiliated with the controversial, US-based Greater Grace World Outreach (GGWO). Another person associated with GGWO, Greg Robertson, is involved with Scientology's 'Cult Awareness Network.'

Apologetics Index (apologeticsindex.org, countercult.com, cultfaq.org) provides 31,800+ pages of research resources on religious cults, sects, new religious movements, alternative religions, apologetics-, anticult-, and countercult organizations, doctrines, religious practices and world views. These resources reflect a variety of theological and/or sociological perspectives.

The site provides information that helps equip Christians to logically present and defend the Christian faith, and that aids non-Christians in their comparison of various religious claims. Issues addressed range from spiritual and cultic abuse to contemporary theological and/or sociological concerns.

Apologetics Index also includes ex-cult support resources - including a directory of cult experts (CultExperts.org), up-to-date religion and cult news (Religon News Blog: ReligionNewsBlog.com), articles on Christian life and ministry, and a variety of other features.
